Hello, I am new to building a PC and I used PCpartpicker to help me with my build. I have
Msi Pro carbon intel z270
https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813130973&cm_re=msi_pro_carbon_intel_z270-_-13-130-973-_-Product
and
G.SKILL Ripjaws V Series 16GB (2 x 8GB) 288-Pin DDR4 SDRAM DDR4 3200 (PC4 25600)
https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820232181
I finished my build and it works great except when I enter the BIOS it says that my ran is at 2100Mhz, I know it can do better if i click on XMP. I am wondering if that will give me issues since the ram is for z170 chip and my mother board has z270 chip? and also my mother boards ram configurations are
3800(OC)/ 3600(OC)/ 3200(OC)/ 3000(OC)/ 2800(OC)/ 2600(OC)/ 2400/ 2133 MHz
what does OC mean? do i have to overclock the processor here? or is there a way to overclock the ram sticks?
Thanks!
