Question Ram is not working properly

Hi so I just bought 16gb of ram, and in settings it still says I only have 8 Gb of ram and only 6gb is usable. Can someplease help?

Download CPU-Z and see what is says in Memory tab, also check the SPD tab - it has a dropdown menu for various slots on your motherboard, see if both your RAM sticks are being picked up by the software.
I just checked, there is nothing in slot 2.

That means your RAM is not being detected (if you have a motherboard with 2 RAM slots). Remove both sticks, clean them up, and make sure they fit properly into the slot. Also try installing only the new stick, see if your system works then. You can also try swapping the slots for each stick.
