ram is running high

my ram is running really high for no reason how to fix ?

Look in task manager and sort from highest ram application down, to see what is using it.

How huigh does the usage go on the desktop?

goes up to 3 gigs of usage I only have 4 gigs so that's high for me

Chrome is using quite a lot so I would close it when not in use.
Also I would do a clean boot ( go into Msconfig go into startup and make sure nothing weird is in there then reboot pc )
Or maybe if you can and your computer can take it, buy a 4 gb stick of ram to add.

it didn't run like this before and I could have chrome opened with 4 tabs and use other programs and it never was that high

With chrome open, if you are using multiple tabs click Shift Esc and it will tell you what tab specifically the usage is from

it can't be chrome like I said before my computer wasn't running that high even if I close chorme it's still very high

go into the msconfig and make sure that no unnecessary programs are starting up with your computer, then re-boot
