Hi,

I just upgraded from 16GB XPG DDR4 RAM 3000Mhz (dual Chan) that was running at stock 2666mhz, to 32GB DD4 Vengence 2666mhz (dual chan) and all is more or less ok, but I dont know why its not running good or maybe it is and its a false alarm, but thats what id love to ask you peeps cause when i ran a userbenchmarktest I got the below result:

example.png

It says "Very Good", I was hoping for a better result (nothing was running in the background while doing the test and all else was in green positive during the test, closed a couple weird processes prior running in end task, its a brand new i7 9700K 240SSD, 2TB HDD, RTX 2070 , so is this normal that i see this and is acceptable or there is something else that could be wrong? I didnt do or mess around with any settings or anything like that in BIOS, also why is 32GB DIMM DD4 closcked at 2133 mhz, isnt it supposed to be running at 2666 by defauklt or im just confusing it and its normal?

So, ya i would just appreciate some clarification on that.

I bought this to get rid of constant CPU USAGE stuck at 100% showing in Assasign Creed ODyssey, but it didnt help that either cause i think there is nother problem with odyssey and not my pc or ram, but thats another story.

Solution
Just my thoughts.

There's nothing alarming about the RAM in that Userbenchmark report. I do agree that it is odd the new RAM is running at 2133MHz rather than the expected stock speed of 2666MHz. If you haven't then I would suggest going into BIOS and see if you can select the appropriate XMP profile.

Worryingly it sounds like you bought higher capacity but slower RAM to replace your old RAM kit without confirming the issue about CPU usage in gaming.

Oh, ok, cool, also i noticed something, my CPU and GPU temps literally dropped 5-7 degrees now ever since I installed that ram and im a newbie and have no clue how ram woudl even be related to the temp of CPU / GPU with the same inhome temperature and temperature outside, but maybe i dont know something? I normally would have CPU at 75-77 temps and GPU 73-78 degrees while lets say playing assasin creed, but ever since i switch RAM my temps for CPU are 68-75 and GPU 68-75 or so +/-. Is there an explanation to that or.............

Not one I can think of immediately. Typically the temperature of a processor (CPU or GPU) would be associated with the workload; more work means higher temperature. As long as the temperature while on maximum load (100%) is still safe, then temperature isn't an issue.

Do you use anything specific to monitor game performance?

Ya, MSI afterburner pretty much is what i use in game. But i think its al lgood, i've just capped fps at 90 as it was going all over the place from 80 to 150 and now cpu usage dropped to 70-85-90, but at least no logner is stuck at 100%. Thanks
