hello,

i have several computer
PC1. I7 2600K 16GB RAM Asrock z68 Extreme 4
PC2. i7 2600K 16GB Ram Gigabyte z68 UD7
PC3. i7 3990K 64GB Ram Gigabyte z79X UD5H

and all of them have problem detecting the ram,

on PC1, it doesn't even want to detect any of the RAM (always stuck in memory c1 error)
on PC2, few weeks ago the memory slot only work 2 out of 4 (i use 4x4gb ddr3) and now it
only work when i install 1 memory, when i fill the rest of the slot the computer will turn on for couple second and then turn off again and repeat, and i also have tried different combination like slot 1 and 2 or 1 and 3 or 1 and 4, etc and all of the slot.

and on PC3 now it only detect 48GB although all the ram are properly slotted (windows 10 64bit), and i don't even want to try to reslot it afraid it will become like PC2.

on PC2 and PC1 i have tried to switch the RAM between them and all it's the same, and on PC2 all the memory do work only if i have placed it on the working slot, but not if it's installed on the other non-working slot.

so my question is since the memory controller is in the processor, is it my processor that are broken or is it my motherboard? and why are problem happen so i can avoid it later on?

thanks for the answer and sorry for the english

Hmm. If you have run Memtest86+ and DIMMs are OK then the only thing I can suggest is to blow out the RAM slots with compressed air from a canister and clean the DIMM terminals with Isopryl Alcohol 95%.. in case of contamination. If that does not work then its the MB that must have a fault.
Please list the RAM Part No of all DIMMs and configurations you have tried with your MBs.

Higher rated or OC RAM is not guaranteed to work (even tho the MB supports it) without Bios intervention.
You may have to enable your XMP profile (if XMP is available) or manually adjust Primary Timings and Voltage for them to work if the frequency of your RAM is higher than the IMC will support.

Intel i7-2600K officially supports up to DDR3 1066/1333.
Intel i7-3990K officially supports up to DDR3 1066/1333/1600

Higher frequency DIMMs are considered an OC and may or may not work and it will depend on the strength of the IMC.

More indepth knowledge of your Bios is required if OC DIMMs are used and I doubt at this stage that the MB or CPU are broken.

You should run MemTest86+ on all your RAM Modules from a USB stick. Download the program and boot from the USB. run for 3 passes on all modules and individually to eliminate the possibility of failing modules.

NOTE: Do not mix kits even of the same spec as this can and will cause issues.

hi,

the memory module is all from corsair

16GB Kit (4x4GB) Corsair CMZ16GX3M4A1600C9

i also try from using other ram

2. 2pcs 8GB Kit (2x4GB) Corsair CMZ8GX3M2A1600C9R

and it's all the same, and the computer used to work with the ram but now on pc2 i can only use 1 stick
and i cannot use XMP or even access the bios since the computer wont boot if i put all the ram in the slot (only 1 slot are working)
