ram memory gaming

Solution
Ram is frequently used to stream textures to your GPU. In the past ram speed made little difference but as of late faster ram/ running multi-channel ram (ie more then one stick) has brought frame rate increases to several new games. As for capacity this also plays a role in frame rate as going over your native ram capacity can cause crashes or at the least be brutal on performance because the page file on the hard drive is in constant use. Generally speaking 8Gb of ram in the minimum you want (with some performance penalties in some games). Ideally 16GB of ram in this day and age for to have zero performance issues.
