Hello,

I currently have a G.Skill RipjawsX 4gb (2x2gb)
http://www.gskill.com/en/product/f3-14900cl9d-4gbxm

I am planning on adding another set, since some games today require over 4gb of ram. I have read that ram mixing may or may not work in different cases.

I found a ram (from the G.Skill RipjawsX series as well) that has the same specifications (speed, latency, voltage) http://www.gskill.com/en/product/f3-14900cl9d-8gbxl

Will the 8gb (2x4gb) ram work with the 4gb(2x2gb) as easy as plug and play? Or do i need to do some manual arrangements?

Any thoughts ?
TIA

Because there are differences, I'd personally stick with adding more of the same, or getting new sticks as a total replacement. The 8 gig from the other set you're looking at would be fine by itself and would be great if you have a dual channel motherboard. If you need more RAM than that, I would look at 4x4gig sticks or 2 8gig sticks. This way you know it should work perfectly and you wouldn't have to worry about if this or that matches. Another 4 gig set looks to be about 30$, and the 8gig set would be about 50$. A 16 gig set would run you between 85$ and 100$.
