I have this RAM: ttps://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820313771&cm_re=Team_group_vulcan_DDR4-_-20-313-771-_-Product

This MOBO: https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813157842&cm_re=b450m_hdv-_-13-157-842-_-Product

The RAM will not fit into the MOBO. It is definitely oriented correctly with notch and the single side latch is open. Both sticks do not fit, and they both fit far enough to be even with one another, suggesting physical incompatibilty between the types. However, the latch does not close automatically and the modules can see-saw around the center, so they are not in (the latch on the side does NOTHING and RAM can simply be taken out.). Also, I can see the gold contacts still. I am afraid to use more force or there will be grinding noise and will scratch contacts.

These items are simply incompatible?

Solved: I was not pushing hard enough and was not shimmying the stick enough.

Solution
They should definetly be compatible. You usually need to use a little more force. Align the module correctly and push from both sides at the same time until the plastic retentions latch.
