Hello all,

I am having an issue I think is related to this. I purchased a G.Skill DDR4-2133 8GB x 1 module for my laptop (an ASUS). I checked to ensure compatibility before I purchased it. 8GB onboard for the laptop and after installation, I still have only 8GB showing through system and CPU-Z. I checked to ensure the leads were clean, no damage to the module, firmly set into the mobo, and I ran a memtest86 to ensure it wasn't a bad module. The memtest86 acknowledged that both the onboard and module were present. Anyone have any ideas on where to go next?

Thanks.

Model of said laptop?
Hi logainofhades,

The model of my laptop is: an ASUSTeK, R550IU-LSFX, BIOS X550IU.308, with an AMD FX-9830P Radeon R7 at 3.0Ghz with 8GB of onboard RAM and a stick in the slot as identified earlier.

It is also worth noting (since I didn't earlier) that I replaced my failed HDD with a SSD. Thus, the new Windows 10 OS on there is operating bare bones as it relates to the ASUS suite. I have installed the Live Update, and I believe that to be it at this point.

Thanks.
