Hi I have an Asus A53S laptop with 4Gb RAM and want to add another RAM module, the frequency of the installed module is 1066MHz. Should the module be the same brand and model or that makes no difference? Can you point me, if still exists, some good options?

Yes, you should pick the same stick of ram or invest in a dual channel ram kit with the same specs as the stick that the laptop came bundled with(at the very least). You should be looking into a 2x4GB DDR3-1333MHz dual channel ram kit.
