Hello All,

I could really use your advice here as I'm going bonkers with choosing memory for my new build.
And using the ASUS QVL is not helping out either, just creating more questions and aggravation.

MOBO - ASUS ROG Crosshair VIII Dark Hero
CPU - Ryzen 5950X

I am interested in Corsair Vengeance LPX, 64GB at 4000MHz.
Question - Which option do you think I should go with?
Option A - Corsair Vengeance LPX, 4x8GB at 4000 (as I cannot get a 64GB choice here) or
Option B - Corsair Vengeance LPX, 2x32GB at 3600? But I really want the 4000 MHz option for the Ryzen 5950X

If I go with 4000MHz, I can only get 32GB.
To get 64GB option, I would need to drop down to 3600MHz.

Help, please? Thank you.

Thanks all for your quick replies!

Currently I have a triple monitor setup which will increase another monitor or two in the new build.
I may be getting involved with video editing in the near future, multiple browsers open, etc.
I need a powerful workstation for home use.
Will be opting for 4K monitors. Any gaming will be minimal.
I've use 64Gb as a nice cushion, more for peace of mind.

Logainofhades,

Thanks! Really 4000 would cause problems? I never thought it would.
This is from AMD themselves (care of Anandtech )

Granted while this is regarding Zen 2 based processors, the overall design didn't change enough between Zen 2 and Zen 3 for this to be obsolete.

Again, thanks all! I decided to go with 4x8, 3600MHz setup.

Now, it's time for me to address the 800lb. gorilla in the room - the video card. Damn these scalpers!
