RAM needed by serial number

Having trouble finding the right RAM for the flwg:

Mac G.5 Power Mac 11.2
Serial # G86104U3UV1

Have purchased 2GB PC-2-5300 DDR2 DE & 2 RAM-DDR2-1024 and neither worked.

Your G5 should be using PC4200.
The serial number would help the clerk at the Apple store because from it he/she can get the year of mfg., which is important.
Upgrading RAM for Macs is tricky, but I have narrowed down 6 choices that will allow you to check your compatibility against. You have the specs there with you; should be easy. Nice thing about Newegg is, if it's wrong you can return it. Just be careful not to mix ECC and non-ECC. Some came with it and some didn't and it was a mess!
