Hi, I recently noticed my RAM is not being updated correctly. I have 16gb ram but only shows 8 on both windows 7 x64 and on bios. However on CPU-ID, it shows i have 16gb.

I've tried unchecking max mem on ms config, removing ram resetting cmos and reinstalling ram, swapping ram, all these but still have no luck resolving this.

I'd appreciate any guidance on this.

Solution
Initially try 1.15 on the VTT (think list CPUVTT on your mobo but might be DDRVTT) also raise DRAM voltage + 0.06....if that doesn't do it, check in the advanced DRAM timings and let me know what the tRFC is set at

There is no reason I can see as to why it shouldn't see all 16GBs. You said the bios only sees 8GB, so the problem probably lays there. Try manually setting the timings, and make sure the voltage is high enough. Set the timings to 10-10-10-30, and I don't know what voltage the sticks needs so you'll need to figure that out. I'd also try to get it working at 1333 before trying 1600. But you'll need to figure out why the bios only sees 8GB.

In that picture is there also one corsair stick and three from patriot, maybe there lies a problem. What happens if you take the corsair out?
Maybe adding 0.05 to the vram will help with the corsair stilll in it,but look first if it isn't already @1.65V which should be the max.
Also, tried enabling XMP in the bios?
Maybe even a bios update will be needed.

@4745454b and @Vic 40- I can confirm that both patriot and corsair memory require 1.5v, I have attempted to change this to 1.65v but did not worked. However I have not tried to change the timing settings.

- Additionally I have updated the bios to the latest version.

- All RAM currently operating at 1333mhz

I have attempted removing all RAM and tested each all worked fine. I then installed in pairs which works fine. However It's only when I install all that only 2 out of 4 RAMs are recognised on BIOS. It doesnt matter if I swap them around, it always recognised the ones inserted in the 1st and 3rd slot and shows as 'none' in the 2nd and 4th slot.

I will attempt to adjust the voltage to 1.65 and change the ram timing to 10-10-10-30. At present I think it's set to 9-9-9-24.

I will update later this afternoon.

I tried to do as advised above but no change. did the volt adjustment to 1.65v, ram timing to 10-10-10-30. Also enabled XMP, but nothing.

I have also tried install each ram at the various slots and all work individually. The problem only occurs when I try to install all four RAMs at a go. Then it only recognizes the slots mentioned above 1 and 3.

You could go into the bios again and in the "OC tweaker" up the " VTT voltage" a notch and try again.Don't go to high with this!
I will see if Tradesman1 has an idea of how high that will/may go.I can't find the exact figures. So keep it at most at two notches up and wait otherwise for more info.Maybe you can tell us how high the default is? Maybe even min. and max. values?
The "VTT" voltage is btw for the memory controller of the cpu, maybe that will need some extra to keep it going.

Does it btw work with just the three Patriot modules?
