I just upgraded almost my whole system, getting a i7 9700k, a z390 aorus pro and a gigabyte 2070 super. I however kept my 16 GB (2x8gb) of 3000mhz Corsair vengeance ram (CMK16GX4M2B3000C15), I had checked the supported memory list and I saw my ram (CMK16GX4M2B3000C15) was on the list so I decided to keep it.

When I put the pc together it posted fine until I enabled the 3000mhz XMP profile in bios at which point it wouldn't boot (the XMP had worked fine on my previous 6600k system). What did eventually work was upping the DRAM voltage from 1.35 to 1.4 and then it did seem stable (even in stress tests) until today when the system again wouldn't boot. so I kept the XMP enabled but reduced the frequency to 2933 and reduced the voltage to 1.35 and it now again seems happy and stable again
Checking the memory supported list again I actually noticed that the mobo supports (CMK16GX4M2B3000C15) ver 3.32, checking my ram version I only have ver 3.21 so I'm guessing this may be the problem?

I also noticed that none of the supported memory is actually listed at 3000mhz so does this mobo not actually support speeds of 3000mhz?
I should also mention my 9700k is OC to 4.7 GHz and is stable. However the XMP profile wasn't stable at stock speed or overclocked.

So my main question is should I get some new 3000mhz RAM that is on the support list and is the correct version? Or is there no point going for 3000mhz ram as the motherboard doesn't say is supports any ram at that speed? Or if my ram stays stable at 2933@3.5v should I not bother changing it as the performance difference between 3000mhz and 2933mhz is nothing?

Thanks in advance.
