So I'm having an issue with my G. Skill Ripjaws X Series DDR3-1866mhz ram. In my bios (Asus Z97-A) it's only showing up as 1600mhz frequency when I have the frequency set to "Auto". Why is this, and how can I fix it? Should I just manually set the ram to 1866mhz?

Solution
Manually setting it to 1866 will allow the RAM to run at that frequency, it wont have a huge impact on the experience and it is almost impossible to notice the difference, but why not?

Alright thanks :) I also read somewhere that this could be a result of me not having XMP enabled. Which if so, would be fixed once I my liquid cooler arrives in the mail which is when I'll enable it and start overclocking.

Actually your CPU temp should go higher a little bit because X.M.P Profile will disable power saving . Hi, I saw a lot of forum on TOM'S HARDWARE that many people have problems on ASUS Z97-A with the X.M.P profile , so I'm sorry . I think you should adjust your Ram Manually .

Yeah I'll probably do that. It doesn't bother me too much, as it won't make too much a difference in performance. I was just curious as to why it occured.
