Ram not working

I recently purchased a PNY ddr3 1600 mhz ram for my Dell Inspiron 15 3558 and geek squad said it would work. Well it doesn't beeps twice and doesn't detect it. The ram that came with my laptop works in both ports I have 64 bit windows so I'm out of options can anyone help

Supports DDR3L memory only

The ram I have is ddr3l

Remove both sticks. And install only new one stick. If the new stick does not work in either slot, then you have a bad one.
