Hello, my dumbass bought the wrong memory sticks, a fairly long time ago so sending it back isn't an option. I have a different problem with my MOBO, so I didn't realize being unable to turn on XMP had to do with the stick itself, thought was just another MOBO issue.
The relevant bits are:
I9-9900KF
z370m
Now the memory is a Corsair Vengeance RGB Pro 3600mhz. I've bought the AMD Model tho, Z.
Since XMP won't work, I've tried overclocking it manually. Changed the memory setting on the MOBO from 'normal' to 'relax OC', set the RAM up to 3600mhz and the voltage was set to 1.35v.
It worked. At first. Until I tried to run a game and it started stuttering and I immediately knew it was the memory overclock. Is it just not possible? Did I set anything wrong? Should I try a lower frequency on the RAM?
Thanks.
