Hello,i have a GIGABYTE GA-970A-UD3P (rev. 2.0) mobo,and 2 ram sticks,the first one it's a Hyperx Fury 8Gb ddr3 1866 CL10 240,and the second it's a Hyperx Savage ddr3 1866 4gb c9.How should i put them on the mobo?in chanel since they have same speed,or how? Thank you

Solution
Try them in slots 1-3 or 2-4 from the CPU,with the 8GB closest to the CPU. Don't know for positive, but many 970s support AMD's version of Intel's Flex Mode - if your mobo supports it you will end up with 8GB in dual channel and the odd 4GB on the 8GB stick running in single channel, of course, that's if the two will even play together.
I have that same MOBO. I would just use one stick as no mater how you put them you will not get "dual channel" speed. Unless you are needing 12GB ram you will only make things more complex and will actually run slower and put more stress on the CPU.

If you must use both I would suggest like this( II--) or (--II) if you had a matching pair you would want to put them like this (I-I-) or (-I-I) for dual channel speed *hope you understand my graphics....

OK, thank you.Ps i understand youre graphics thx 😉
