Ram options

Heres my board

I have 2 512 sticks in my system right now. one in the second purple slot and one in the last 1....when i get the same speed ram im not sure of the brand there both generic i think what should i do? keep my existing sticks where they are and put the two new onesi n the green slots OR move both old sticks into the first green and purple slots for dual channel or will there be problems.

If you still have the MSI Manual, I would check it out on what they say. But it is my understanding that you place the memory in same color slots.

So I would keep your old ram in the Purple slots and put new ram in the Green slots.

In some MBs, you go with the same-colored slots, with others, you go with the different-colored slots. Checking your manual is the way to go.
