[SOLVED] RAM OR HDD? WHAT'S THE MAIN PROBLEM

MY SPECS

CPU: i5 3550s 3.0 base 3.7 boost
GPU: ASUS GTX 960 STRIX 4GB OC Edition
RAM: 8x1 GB DDR3 Corsair Value Select 1600Mhz

HDD: Seagate 5400rpm

PSU: Antec V450

[ ISSUE: GPU USAGE ]

Got this new GPU recently and I was pumped to play PUBG PC on it. When I opened the game, there were a few minor stutters here and there.

I check Task Manager and to my surprise my GPU wasn't being utilized to a 100%, IT WAS around 60% constant whereas my CPU was working under full load 100%. RAM USAGE at that moment - 6.8/8 GB


I ran FurMark 3D on extreme settings, and then the GPU usage was a full 100% with the CPU hovering around 60% with RAM Usage of 2.3/8GB.

Why is it that I'm experiencing low gpu usage in games? Is it due to the RAM or the slow HDD? Please help.

100% cpu usage in game suggests the cpu is the limiting factor not the hdd or ram.

That depends on the game. PUBG is a fairly cpu heavy game. You might be able to free up some cpu resources by closing other programs and unneeded background tasks.

There is currently a bug in pubg affecting i5 processors causing them to redline at 100% no matter what you change in settings.

Yes exactly! That's what happening with me. Found out about this issue right after I posted here. PUBG really needs to step up to fix this ASAP!
