[SOLVED] Ram orientation

Does it matter if the ram is orientated to the 12 oclock or 6 oclock position? Obviosly only one side goes in but it once its lined up correctly, it looks like it can still be rotated 180 degrees and still go in.

Yes it matters.
There are tabs to prevent this.

No, it can't go in the wrong way around. Its offset enough so you can't do it.

It can literally, physically go in only one way.

The RAM stick and slot is keyed for this.

Interesting. The notch looks perfectly in the middle. So if the pc booted I put it in the right way?

It may look to be in the middle, but it is not.

There's a mechanical drawing on page 14. The RAM stick is 133.5mm long, the notch is 72.5mm from one side and whatever the rest is from the other.
