Hello guys, quick question. I just bought some ddr4 dominator platinum ram. 4x4gb 2800mhz. By default the frequency of the ram is 2133mhz. To overclock them at their normal speed (2800) do i have to raise voltage too or i just set them to 2800mhz? Motherboard used is Asus Rampage V x99

If the memory supports XMP, then load the profile for 2800 MHz in BIOS (under Extreme Tweaker/Ai Overclock Tuner; change from Auto to X.M.P. and select frequency). All appropriate settings (frequency, voltage, timings) will be automatically applied after saving changes in BIOS and rebooting.

If the memory does not support XMP, or there is no entry for 2800 MHz (under XMP in BIOS), or the X.M.P. procedure doesn't seem to work, then settings have to be entered manually in BIOS.

Run CPU-Z, and under the SPD tab, note the voltage and timings required for memory 2800 MHz operation (1400 MHz).

Or, run HWiNFO64, select Summary Only check box and select Run button. Note voltage and timings required for 2800 MHz (1400 MHz) memory.

Boot into BIOS and set DRAM Frequency to 2800 MHz, set DRAM Timing Control/Primary Timings to that noted above (CPU-Z or HWiNFO64), and set DRAM Voltage to that noted above (CPU-Z or HWiNFO64).

Thanks for your answer.
I have already set the XMP profile and my pc does not want to start. I guess that my ram sticks is faulty.

Clear CMOS. Load BIOS defaults.

Then could try manually setting the frequency, voltage and timings as reported by CPU-Z or HWiNFO.

Also, was memory confirmed to be compatible with this system (motherboard) using Corsair Memory Finder? It is possible the memory may be incompatible(?)

thanks a lot. I will try this and i will be back
