RAM Overclocking with ryzen

Can someone please tell me step by step how to set my ram speed to 3000mhz [Corsair Vengeance LPX 3000 (CMK16GX4M2B3000C15R)]? I am using a ryzen 5 1600 and a msi x370 gaming plus motherboard. Is it safe to do it?

Go to your BIOS and turn on XMP, save and exit and it should run at it's rated speed.

Did you get that to work? As I have the same RAM but the B in the middle is a C and the K at the beginning is a U and I can only get it to run at 2800.

Did you get that to work? As I have the same RAM but the B in the middle is a C and the K at the beginning is a U and I can only get it to run at 2800.

I have not got the parts yet. I am just making a plan. Hope it works fine.

2800mhz is not a bad speed for Ryzen but if you tweak with the manual mode you might hit 3000.

Cheers it is perfectly stable at 2933 but every 2 or 3 reboots the bios resets, do you think its worth more tinkering? Apologies for hijacking this thread.

It depends, if you know what your doing in in the BIOS do it, Ryzen preforms a lot better the faster the ram speed, if you can get it faster do it but if not 2933 isn't a bad speed for ryzen
