[SOLVED] ram pairing

hi i am currently having one pair of 2x8gb F4-3200C16D-16GTZR Trident Z RGB DDR4-3200MHz CL16-18-18-38 1.35V 16GB (2x8GB) can i add this pair
F4-3000C16D-16GTZR Trident Z RGB DDR4-3000MHz CL16-18-18-38 1.35V 16GB (2x8GB)
am i gonna be able to run both easily at 3200mhz or am i gonna have to run at 3000mhz

Hey there,

As the others have mentioned, mixing DIMMS is not a good idea. Whilst they may work at a lower speed, it's very possible they won't work together. Knowing your mobo will help. If you're running a Ryzen system with a B350/B450 chipset you may not even be able to get all 4 DIMMS working at 3000mhz. It's possible it could be less.

I'd return them as @Lutfij mentioned.

Do not that both kits have the same latency and voltage but not the same frequency. You will have to overclock and tinker with the second ram kit to get them both to work at DDR4-3200MHz. I'd advise that you source the same ram kit as the one you currently own. Also, make sure your BIOS for the motherboard is up to date. Speaking of motherboard, what is the make and model of your motherboard?
