RAM placement

I have 8gb of g.skill ram @ 1600mhz and on my motherboard, I placed them in two dimm slots that are back to back. Is it better to have one slot between them? I have seen lots of people do that and I don't know if what I'm doing is wrong. It all works fine, I'm just wondering. Thanks in advance 😀

Usually you have to match the color of the slots with ram. IE slot 1 and 3 or 2 and 4. Look at your motherboard manual and it will tell you which slots you should be using first. You have very limited information about your system. If you only have 4 slots and 4 memory chips then all 4 should be full and you are fine.

You want to run it in dual Channel for best performance. Yes put one in slot 1 and the 2nd in slot 3.

ok thank you 😀 I moved around the ram to the 1st and 3rd slots and I haven't noticed a big difference yet, but it certainly hasn't negatively effected anything 😛
