I wanted to add some more ram(it is compatible etc) and I was "a bit" careless on that static charge thing. I did it on a carpet without touching something grounded. Now when I try open it, screen remains black and bios beeps for ram error. Thing is I also touched the ones I already had installed and the same happens with each of the sticks. So I believe I damaged them with static. Is there any hope for my sticks? Or could it be something else?

This is just a thought and is likelly the cause to the RAM. I wouldn't say that it's possible, less likely. Imagine, if you rub your feat on the carpet, that creates static electricity and then there's a big possibility that ram would get damaged if you would touch it, it actually will happen, kind of obvious. The RAM might be faulty, if you could install it in to a different system, your friends pc or whatever, that would show you if RAM is faulty or is not supported by your mobo.

Thanks for the quick reply. By "the same happens with each of the sticks" I mean I tried each one individually. That's why I hope it's not static damage. Since it doesn't boot, memtest isn't an option.

Basically, if it happens for both of the sticks when each of them are installed, one per test, and tested to see if the os boots, the answer will be obvious. If one of the modules work and other doesn't that means the first stick is faulty and if both if them don't work they're faulty or not supported. Sometimes the guides of mobos are not accurate, rarelly.... Sorry for my English, I'm a foreigner...

Can I just say something? Other factors might prevent RAM from working, such as CPU, it might not like the type of RAM. I can tell from my experience. Can you get to your BIOS and check whether RAM is detected and or shows what frequency it's running and the timings?

It is compatible. I'll try it on another system though. Thanks
