Hello guys, I am just want to ask maybe you know the solution.
I have bought additional 8gb RAM for my laptop Lenovo Z70-80.
I bought them in mind with current 4gb RAM specifications (DDR3, 1600, SO-DIMM etc.) - attached images: View: https://i.imgur.com/6qS58EG.jpg

However, then I added them to my laptop, nothing seems to happen. One thing I have noticed is voltage difference newer 8gb ram is 1.5V, older 1.35V. Do you think this is main problem?
How could I fix it, to have both 8 and 4 working together?
Thanks in advance!

You should've sourced the same stick of ram or rather a pair of DDR3-1600MHz sticks that were rated to run at 1.35v. What do you mean by "nothing seems to happen"? Were you expecting the laptop to do something after the ram upgrade? Also, are you on the latest BIOS update for your laptop?

I am not techy guy, sorry for noob questions. :)
So, best guest is to bring back 8GB Ram to store and get 4gb DDR3-1600Mhz 1.35v?
And yes, BIOS is updated.

They recommend DDR3L in the specs (1.35volts) If it was mine I would max it out with two 8GB sticks. It shows it has a 5400 speed hard drive. My Toshiba C55 had 6 GB memory and a 5400 speed drive and it was slow as dirt, Put 16 GB memory in and it helped but the best upgrade is I bought a 960GB SSD and cloned my drive to the SSD and now its is a screamer! Keeping my old hard drive for a back-up.
Here is some memory from newegg's memory finder https://www.newegg.com/tools/memory...sult/1587673;flt_storagecapacitytitle=16%20GB
