RAM PROBLEM!!

Here are the specs of my computer

i5-2500k
gigabyte GA-P67A-UD3-B3 MOBO
win 7 64-bit

my problem is i had patriot g2 ddr3 1333mhz 1.65volt 2x 4gb installed and in windows and cpu-z showed 8gb's of memory ( i put them in slots 2 and 4)

now i upgraded to

when i installed the ram and put it in the same slots it only shows 4gb of ram and in cpu-z it shows that in ram slot # 4 nothing shows up.

I kno the mem slots are fine because with the previous ram it showed both slots working, it cant be a bent cpu pin because if that was the case on my previous ram set up it wouldnt have showed 8gb.

only thing i can think of is to maybe reset bios//cmos?

any help will be much appreciated

btw reason why i upgraded is because i want to OC and i heard its bad to OC i5-2500k with a 1.65 volt ram.

Sounds like a bad memory stick.. Time to RMA I guess.. Check it first though.. Connect each stick individually in each slot and try to boot up..

Gigabyte slots are usually 1 and 2, and 3 and 4, not 1-3 ,,, 2-4 ...RTFM...
