My brother gave me some RAM to use, which is this kind pictured below My computer specs are listed in my signature. I see on the site I bought my motherboard from (Newegg) that it supports DDR3 2000(O.C.) / 1866/ 1600 / 1333 / 1066 and if I'm looking in the correct spot on the RAM sticker, these two 8GB sticks are 2133. What would happen if I put these in?

Solution
If the two 8GB RAM sticks are DDR3, then they will fit perfectly fine in the DIMM slots.

In terms of memory speed, your motherboard won't support the 2133Mhz speed that is listed on the RAM. The motherboard only supports 2000Mhz when it is OVERCLOCKED. The default RAM speed that your motherboard supports with NO OVERCLOCKING is 1866Mhz.

So what does this mean?
Well you can place the RAM in the DIMM slots perfectly fine if they are DDR3, however the RAM won't run at the speeds they are manufactured at (2133Mhz) due to the motherboard limitations. You should still be able to use the RAM.

Hope this helped!

That absolutely does help! And yeah, you can/should be able to tell by the picture I linked that they are, in fact, DDR3. :) Thanks for the quick reply!
