RAM Question

Just bought this: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820609219&CMP=EMC-IGNEFlASH042007&ATT=N82E16820609219

(2-1 Gig sticks of DDR2 5400 RAM)

And already have these:

2 512 sticks of DDR2 RAM, but one is 5300, the other is 4300.

I do have a mobo that supports dual channel memory, so which of the last 2 should I use, should I even bother with the 4300? And will the 2 512 sticks cause any issues with the 2 1 Gig sticks?

I wouldnt obther with either of your old sticks.

If you run the 2x1gb sticks as dual channel, there is no need for the other 2 at all

Putting either of the other 2 in means that you cannot run dual channel (or shouldnt be able to) as 3 sticks you cant and the 2 older ones dont match up so it shouldnt work

Running in Single channel means that all will have to run at the same frequency. So unless you overclock the 4300 stuff the rest will run at that speed. The way i see it chuck the new shit in there and be happy with 2gb

You can go ahead and install all 4 sticks -- it shouldn't cause a problem, and should work in dual channel mode. If there's an incompatibility, no problem, just don't use the 512MB sticks.
