I'm just wondering if there is a huge difference between "value" RAM and ram with the gold heat spreaders and all the fancy things..I mean will you notice a huge difference in gaming if they're both clocked at the same frequency and all that? Because if they're similar I may go with the value RAM just to save a bit of money on a rig I'm planning to build.

No diff if they're clocked the same; however, chances with value RAM are much higher that you won't be able to clock them as high, they won't be as likely to work in a mix of different brands of modules, and so forth.

I'm still pretty noobified when it comes to RAM but I did a bit of research and value ram seems to have higher timings 5-5-5-15 etc. The performance orientated RAM I was comparing it to had 4-4-4-12 timings, does this make a huge difference?
