Question RAM recommendations ?

Hello guys, I would like to buy some 800 MHz DDR2 RAM for my machine. It needs more RAM so I can
multitask more and so that there is no bottlenecking and that I can overclock a tad bit more.

My PC Specs

Motherboard: P35-DS3 rev 2.1 (with the SLIC 2.1 + Xeon mod)

CPU: Intel C2Q Q9550 (clocked at 3.4, I wanna go higher)

RAM: Kingston 2x1 GB DDR2-667 and PQI-CORP DDR2-800 2x1 GB, 4 GB total ( I want some 800 MHz DDR2 8 GB kit)

GPU: GT 730 Asus 2 GB GDDR5 "Kepler" edition

PSU: MSI MAG A650BN

Cooler: AIGO ICE200PRO 95W TDP cooler

Case: DELUX mid-tower "BMW" style ATX case

Cards/accesories: 1x TP-LINK TG-3468 Ethernet Card

That is it, I hope somebody suggests it. And I wanna buy it off of e-bay, shipping only from Europe (I only want it from the European Union because then I have to pay taxes if it exceeds the limit). My location is Croatia.

Thanks . But it does not need to be like from Croatia, it can be Germany for example. And do you have any other suggestions except this one ( I like these suggestions but I want a, 8 GB kit with no mixed RAM sticks if possible!)

write ddr2 in bar of ebay , choise Europe , there are from Germany but are expensive

Pretty understandable. I did do that, even wanted to get a kit of G.Skill DDR2-800 but its 52 USD for an 8 GB kit, not bad, but I will probably get it as I would like to finish this retro PC (I will listen to you too and once again thanks for the help )

look for 4x2gb Mushkin Silverline (used), very good ram , i had one kit with my old 775 mb and I sold them all together, I had bought them new (if I remember correctly, somewhere around 80 euros)

Okay great. I have just found 2 offers that have 2x2 Corsair XMS2 DDR2 800 MHz sticks, CL5. That's enough for me. And 8 gigs, that is great so I can finally run Windows 7 a bit faster.

I actually found 4 sticks, 8 GB total, of G.SKILL 800 MHz RAM, for 45 euros. Ofc 2 different sellers but the woulld have been 38 dollars if it werent for the expensive shipping to my country lol.

Yep, good then. I saw that it is NON-ECC, that is for normal PC machines and not servers. I will be buying this kit tomorrow or today. Ty!

Hi man, I got the memory on Friday. Its gonna arrive soon, I got it from 2 sellers, so all in all a full 8 GB kit. And is it true that some RAM is only compatible with AMD or Intel chipsets or I just don't know sh** about it? Also, will it make a difference from 4 GB DDR2-667 ----> 8 GB DDR2-800

Those that state that they are from servers or for servers will not work.Yes, you will have a difference both in terms of frequency and size.

Also when I put the 8 GB of RAM, do I need to make changes? I can send you all of my MB Intelligent Tweaker settings maybe next week since this week I have stuff to do, but I did add +0.3 V to DDR2 just so I get ready if I need to do anything! I will send the config later

Greeetings Triplex1. The memory arrived at 11 am whilst I was in school so I was not able to be here until I came back 1 hour ago (my parents picked it up). The memory works!!! Recognized, and everything is fully working on my Q9550. I do not need any more help, but thanks so much for being here with me this entire time and guiding me. Best regards from Croatia!

Yeah with the Q9550, and my cooler is AIGO ICE200PRO, TDP 95W cooler

the cooler you have is as small as the same tdp of the processor, if you do anything and it has second plates, put a second fan as well
when I had the Xeon, so you can understand, on the 775 I had this cooler and the processor was running like a Ferrari
