Ram Shows Red Light

I have 4 RAMs.
1. 256 MB
2. 256 MB
3. 512 MB
4. 1 GB
So Total I have 2 GB. I run this stuff for over 2 weeks but recently it was showing red light and pc was not running so I unplugged a 256 MB Ram from motherboard. Pc Running correctly but what happened suddenly to 256 MB RAM ......????????

Hi Syed,

The error is occuring because you have mixed RAM installed.

It is not recommened to ever mix RAM cards. It can cause damage to you system and will almost always produce errors over time. It is considered 'best practice' to only install RAM modules that are exactly the same make/ model/ and size.

Try raising the DRAM voltage + 0.05, and let us know the mobo, with mixted sticks may need additional voltage to the MC(memory controller) which is (here) prob on the mobo
