I was wondering if its possible to mount ram sinks on my 9500 pro if i were to put on a vga silencer. It looks to me like they would fit but i was wondering if any one has done this?

I'm pretty sure the OCZ, and Tweakmonster ramsinks would fit.

Should i get the bga ramsinks or standard? would these work? <A HREF="http://heatsinkfactory.com/cgi-bin/HFAstore.pl?user_action=detail&catalogno=VC-019" target="_new">http://heatsinkfactory.com/cgi-bin/HFAstore.pl?user_action=detail&catalogno=VC-019</A>

umm 9500pro it has BGA memory, so why would you use standard? So you can not cover up your memory?

There should be room for ramsinks, and I'm probably one of the people you're talkinga bout who said on Newegg they sanded it down. :) You don't have to, my boss put his on without lapping it, and had no trouble, but as there were still pretty noticable machining marks, and I had jsut spent $22 or whatever for an aftermarket cooler, I wanted to lap it so I got best contact, and hence best performance from it. THe heatsink is raised from rest of card probably at least a quarter inch though, so should be able to get ramsinks on there no problem. Make sure of whether or not it's compatible with your card though, can't remember if it works with the 9500. T hink it does, but will save some hassle of you make sure before you buy it.

Planning on ramsinks on mine, but probably jsut going to get the BFG set from COmpusa so I can pick it up locally. Do some metal work, so can trim/shape them if I need to, know that's not an option for everyone.

You could go with the OCZ aluminum or copper BGA just fine with the vga silencer. Its the Zalman that gives you hell.

Termal Take has some lowprofile ramsinks that fits (a few times!) underneath the vga silencer.

They were orininally intended for standard ram-modules (i.e. one heatsink per chip)
