Sorry for the beginner question but I just need it confirmed/explained.

If I had 4 X 32 sticks of RAM, as apposed to 4X 16 sticks of RAM in a computer for Video editing, Digital arts, Streaming and gaming. What performance benefits would I notice/get with the larger RAM?

Solution
What is your editing app?
For Premiere PRO, puget systems has this recommendation:

While the exact amount of RAM you need is going to depend on the length, codec, and complexity of your project, for Premiere Pro we generally recommend a minimum of 32GB. Memory usage in Premiere Pro can quickly shoot up, however, so it is important that you ensure you have enough system RAM available. Keep in mind that if you often work with multiple programs at the same time, you may want to have even more RAM in your system as each program will need its own chunk of RAM.

How much RAM does Premiere Pro need?

The exact amount you need will depend on exactly what you are doing, but we do have a general guideline depending on the different...
I'm building a PC. I just want to know what benefits does doubling the RAM. I know what you get if you double your Hard drive... more storage.

Does more RAM mean faster something? Does buying less RAM, but with faster speeds cancel out the more RAM with slower speeds, etc... I though it would be safer to ask here.

Thanks.

AMD Ryzen 9 5950X 16 Core,32 Threads, up to 4.9 GHz
ASUS ROG CROSSHAIR VIII DARK HERO X570

Faster is better, 3600 with 16 cas would be good, if you get a 4 stick set it could make you run it at 3200 to be stable.

For the amount that is user specific. Buying a bunch more than you need has no benefits and just cost you more money. It depends on the size of the project and the program used.

For your average user that is not making money from it 32GB should be enough but that still depends on how much you use.

Ryzen performance is tightly connected to ram performance.
Faster is better.
Also, compatibility can be tricky.
Look at the list of supported ram kits for your motherboard.
Not all ram is supported. Buy only a supported kit if you can.

Run your apps and watch the ram usage.
If your hitting up near the top then adding ram will help.
If your not using all the ram you have now then adding more won't help.

So to Mhz ? 3200Mhz compared to 3600Mhz, what's happening there? Faster transfer of data?

Also same question about CL 16 compared to CL18?
Get the largest capacity you need (but not more), in the fastest speed you can afford and is available.
But don't stress too much over the MHz and latency.

If you only ever use 40GB max, then 64GB RAM is enough. 128GB is a waste.

There are two aspects to ram performance related to quantity.

1. Some apps can use ram as workfiles so for them, more is better.
Look at the ram requirements for your app.

2. In the normal course of events, ram can get overloaded and will spill over to the page file.
Look at task manager/memory tab/ hard fault page rate.Anything more than zero indicates a shortage of ram.

In the case of ram speed/timings trade off, consider a drag race.
Acceleration rate is like the timings, or how long it takes to get up to speed.
Speed is the top rate of travel.
In a short race acceleration prevails, in a long race top speed prevails.

Excluding integrated graphics use, speed is not that important for Intel.
speeds like 3600 are more appropriate for ryzen.
