Hey,

I purchased a X99-A motherboard from asus a few days ago. On first boot up, the D_1 and D_2 slots didn't show ram in them. I'm trying to use all 8 Slots. Updated to latest bios and still not showing. I called ASUS support, but they informed me that the ram is not compatible. (Even though their manual states that it does.) The other 6 slots work fine, but even if there was a compatibility problem with all 8 slots, I should still be able to boot with only 2 sticks in D_1 and D_2. Instead, the motherboard gives a Q code error 53 for memory initialization error.

Just asking if there is any more troubleshooting before I RMA the board.

Thanks!

Hey, thanks for the response. I purchased a new CPU as part of the motherboard upgrade. On first boot, It didn't show D channel ram. I read some of the forums and saw that as a possible cause. Took the CPU back out and inspected all pins, they all appeared perfect. Then re-seated CPU with water cooling heat-sink a little over finger tight.
