[SOLVED] Ram slots

My motherboard have 4 ram slots 1,2,3,4 .I am using slot 1,2 with 2x4GB ram , when i insert a new ram in either 3,4 the computer gives a beep and gets off .I try cleaning ram and slots with dry cloth and brush.
it doesnot work. Even the ram 1,2
doesnot work in ram slot 3,4

If you have 2 RAM modules on a 4 slot motherboard... then RAM usually goes on 2nd and 4th slots.
You should read the motherboard's manual or at least post the motherboard model # so we can help.

Is the RAM all the same? If you are trying to mix and match different frequency and timings that can cause a post error. Read your MB manual, but typically you populate on slot 2 and 4, 1 and 3 not (1,2) (3,4) .

Is the RAM compatible with the motherboard?
That motherboard supports DDR3 1600mhz PC3-12800 RAM
