[SOLVED] Ram slots

Hi, I have the a motherboard with two memory slots and I have placed one single 8GB ram to one of the slots, is it good to only use one or two use both??

you get the best out of your ram in dual channel using both as a matched pair but mixing and matching ram even of the same make is not garneted and will sometimes work but can be expensive if it does not.
