[SOLVED] RAM SO-DIMM Laptop

Hello i was going to buy a RAM SO-DIMM 8gb for my laptop. It says that it doesn't have buffering or ECC, what does that mean? Is it negative? Link to ramstick:

ECC and buffering are features for server ram.
For desktop (and laptop) you want ram without ECC and buffering.

servers are meant to be on for a long time in the same "session" that means that means, no relogs, no reboots for extended amounts of time

normal ram will get data corruptions after a while, if you leave a pc on for a few weeks you might see these appear

ECC Error Correcting CODE memory alliviates this, but is much more expensive

Hi, i recently bought a ramstick 2666mhz from kingston hyperx (SO-DIMM). But it seems like my PC has a ramstick with 3200mhz. Will the HyperX then work?

Mixing & matching can be problematic.
In most cases, it'll 'work', but your 3200MHz will drop down to 2666MHz.
