Ive recently built a system

ASrock 970 extreme4 motherboard
amd fx-8350 cpu
cryorig h7 cooler
crucial ballistix sport 16gb (2x8gb)
thermaltake smart 550w psu
msi gtx960 4G gpu

I have been receiving alot of errors recently and since its a new computer I didnt know where to begin, so I ran memtest and returned errors at stock speeds, timings and voltage. Now I lowered the speed from stock 1600 to 1333 and so far memtest has been running for about an hour and hasnt returned an error yet wheres running at stock 1600 would have returned several errors right now. Is 1600 RAM speeds not compatible with my system or have I just received faulty/corrupt RAM sticks or is the problem related to something else. Any feedback is appreciated

Funny thing I was looking at the Asrock Mobo und Memory part its writen:
*1866/1800/1600MHz memory speed is supported depend on the AM3/AM3+ CPU you adopt. For detail CPU specification, please refer AMD official website.
So I said to myself, Must be the error!! But after reading this forum : http://www.tomshardware.co.uk/answers/id-2300736/ram-compatibility-amd-8350-cpu.html It should be compatible :/

I would sugest to try doing a Bios update and give it a shoot. Can you describe what errors you getting ?

I did a bios update still nothing, when trying to download/run O.S at stock RAM speed would get all different BSOD each time (Memory Management/ntfs file system/system service exception/page in non paged area/ and so on. Here is the memtest within first few few hours

Im currently doing a memtest at 1300 speeds right now will try after a few more passes

funny thing this look more like a Motherboard error to me than a ram problem

ive been running at 1333 and have yet to receive an error in memtest. The things is that I thought it would be a RAM problem is that the times i actually was able to make it passed windows installation without a BSOD the system would run slow and have hiccups in the operating system and the disk drive would goto 100% usage and freeze up. And I know the hdd is fine cause Ive tried it in a much older computer running windows vista and everything seemed to be fine drive wouldnt run at 100% and allowed me to install and run windows 10 perfectly

and then i thought it could be the gpu so i once again tried an old gpu and seemed to have worked alittle better but eventually the same problems came about. I dont have any extra ddr3 ram laying around so i basically narrowed my problem to RAM or motherboard, I hope its not the motherboard

Ram are quite easy to produce, oposite to a motherboard (There is a reason you can often find "Lifetime" warranty on Ram.) Off course is a guess, I would bet something is going mad at your Mobo or even CPU :/. You could do a Jerk move and Order from Amazon some ddr3 memories test and say you bought the wrong type and want a refund (Risky method, I did 😀)

I do have the latest drivers and I can't even get to installing OS without receiving BSOD problems, and even when I did get to installing OS without errors I seemed to still have windows freeze up, crash and/or hard disk usage at 100% which in turn causes os to freeze crash or lag

I filed a replacement through newegg hopefully this fixes the problem or else I guess ill be sending the motherboard in next

 good luck I hope it solves your issues keep informed im curious 😀

yeah I just reinstall windows os using 1333 RAM speeds and everything seems stable havent crashed once my hdd seems to not be using 100% usage no BSOD will be sending the sticks back for replacement thank you all
