Ram Speed (Mhz)

Hello,
I'm buying some new RAM for my pc, but I'm a bit new to it all. I'm reasonably smart so don't worry about getting techy, but my mobo says I can have DDR3 memory up to 1333Mhz. The RAM I was thinking about buying is Corsair Vengeance 8GB (2x4GB) at 1600Mhz. Will this not work on my mobo? Also I have a 64-bit OS and an AMD Phenom II 955 @3.20Ghz.

Its an ASUS M4A87TD. Its pretty new, got 4 DIMM sockets on it, USB 3.0 and stuff. And thanks much appreciated I'll get that RAM then

I've got the manual right here where it says that, and I understand it, but just underneath it says this exactly: "Due to the CPU spec., AMD AM3 100 and 200 series CPUs support up to DDR3 1066MHz. With ASUS design, this motherboard can support up to DDR3 1333MHz" Thats what worried me :/ btw thanks for being so helpful

The today mobos are really flexible, compare to 5 yo mobos : 0

Remember, RAM is sold at the fastest speed it is guaranteed to work at, not the speed it will actually run when you plug it in. This speed is dictated by the motherboard/cpu combination. Running it over or under this "default" speed can be done manually by the user, on most retail motherboards. You just want to make sure the memory you buy is at least capable of supporting the default speed of your board/cpu combination. So buying 1600mhz memory has you covered, with room for potential overclocking if you want to do that at some point in time.
