[SOLVED] Ram Speed Problem/Doubt

A few weeks ago I bought two HyperX ddr4 16gb 3466 Mhz Ram sticks. Yesterday I was checking my task manager and it said my ram speed was only 2400mhz. Why is that happening? I know my Motherboard supports that speed.

specs:
Aorus Z390 Elite
I7 9700K
32gb 3466 Mhz
Gtx 1080

Please help!!

How did you confirm 3466 previously? Did you enable XMP in the Bios or just expected them to run at speed without configuring settings in the Bios?

Run Cpuz and please post screenshots of memory and SPD tab.

You have to go into the BIOS
It's in the manual. Start at pagez 22; details for XMP are on page 27

Yeah, instructions on enabling XMP be in the manual as edga23 said.

I see your ram are placed in slots 1 & 3. 3466 probably still work as is but if not, put them in 2 & 4. 2 & 4 (A2 B2 - second and forth slot) from cpu are the primary slots for two sticks.
