Hi
I have a Biostar 790gx 128m mobo in my build. The mobo itself supports up to 16GB of RAM.
I have installed in this computer 4X 2GB sticks of DDR2 1066 ram from g.skill (it was cheap).
I am dual booting Ubuntu 64 bit and XP 32 bit. I know of course that the 32 bit OS will only recognize
3.** GB of ram. Here's my problem: When I use 2 sticks of 1066 in XP, I actually get the 1066Mhz advertised speed. When I add the other 2 sticks, the RAM speed drops down to 533MHz, which looks suspiciously like half the frequency.
When I upgrade XP 32 to a 64 bit OS, will I unlock full speed of my RAM? Is this an OS or a Mobo issue?
Thanks in advance
