ram speed question

Why cant I google memory read/write/copy/latency benchmarks? It exists no where. I just wanted to see if my timings and overclock were competitive. My write speed appears so low

I tightened the timings but only gained 3GB/s for each for sooooooo much work.
Please let me know if these speeds are typical!

No one is responding at all and my post falls to the bottom of a very long list. I've been at this for 4 days. I don't know why the hell it is so hard to find BENCHMARKS of memory speeds that are not meaningly like those benchmarking suites heavensoft or whatever. I just want to see my MB/s vs other peoples' MB/s for DDR4 to gauge my computer. Biggest issue is I see so many DDR3 users with WAYYY better read/write/copy/latency performance than my rig and I wanted to know why

Had yours still open to look ,took me a while but see now that you use dual channel on a quad channel board,might have something to do with your results

so yes yours doesn't do that well,but look at how he overclocked,uses the 100mhz bclk.Also uses quad channel.

You overclocked using the bclk,using the 125mhz strap,maybe try this at the stock 100,see if that makes a difference.Unless this is set by the bios/uefi =using XMP so that the ram is running at rated specs,that might be necessary for getting at 3000mhz.
Overclocking of ram is afaik about small differences comparing the same set stock to overclocked looking at changing timings .

What kind of ram do you use anyway? Partnr ... just want to see if that is really 3000mhz ram.

Yeah I finally found out a couple days ago that I had to place my DIMMs into all 4 black slots to activate quad channel!

My RAM bandwidths doubled
14-15-15-33-1N-382 1.390v
Quad Channel
54-59GB/s for read/write/copy and latency is 54.2ns now in AIDA64 but Passmark reports 20ns latency

As for 100 BCLK, that was the first thing I did however the 5820K paired with 3000MHz RAM has stability issues when the BLCK is changed. I read this finally from numerous people. So the only way I could achieve 4.5GHz CPU speed is to change my BLCK to 100 then drop the RAM bandwigth from 3000 to 2444/2666 which isn't great for my purposes.

I was able to change my command rate from 2N to 1N which was cool!

You know I'm not entirely sure how to get the uncore higher. I do know that I cannot change my BCLK while still holding 3000MHz ram speeds. I'm locked at 125 BCLK unless I drop RAM down to 2444/2666.

Any benefits to higher uncore? My computer temps have about 10C of overclocking room left under stress testing so I can go higher and still be under 80C (as a gamer, I rarely pass 68C)

Do I increase my SA voltage to 1.270v sdame as my vcore to achieve higher ring bus speed? Because I tried and failed to post, even had to clear the cmos. I think the article stated that the uncore is just a name for SystemAgent voltage? He's using terms I don't see in my ASRock Extreme4 BIOS

Talking about the "X99 Extreme4"? Should be this one,but just to be sure ...

I think looking at the manual for that one do you need to look at these,

CPU Cache Ratio
the CPU Internal Bus Speed Ratio. the maximum should be the same as the CPU Ratio.

CPU Cache Voltage Mode
Auto: For optimized settings.
Adaptive: Add voltage to the CPU Cache when the system is under heavy loading. (could try this first)
Override: the voltage is Fixed. (or set a fixed value as mentioned in that artikel)

CPU Cache Voltage Offset
Configure the voltage for the CPU Cache. Setting the voltage higher may increase
system stability when overclocking.

Yeah I messed with those but I could not change the BCLK to 100 still. I can try again for 125 but stability becomes an issue.

What voltage do I set these to? My vcore is 1.270 so do I set the CPU Cache Ratio voltages and SA Offset to 1.270 fixed? AND THEN I can increase my north bridge closer to my actual CPU speed without BSoDs or failure to post?

The bclk at 100 will probably need a speed of 2666mhz on the ram to stay stable.You could try that and maybe even lower timings as well,that's up to you. From what i know do you want the ram at 3000mhz which needs the higher bclk ratio.
You set lower timings (cas i think?) which might cause instability too,so maybe you could try at the stock timings for 3000mhz.

You can try with bclk at 125,look at what multiplier the Cache Ratio is set and just add one,see what it will do. Set the Cache voltage equal to the Vcore. Don't think you have to change the SA offset ,keep it at what you set it before trying this.

So I finally got around to trying what you said and I failed to get past the BIOS like before. The ring bus would not overclock even 1 multiplier higher even when setting the Cache Ratio Voltage to be the same as my Vcore. However, I did notice a trend in my attempts. Every time I tried, I would load back into the BIOS after multiple failures to start and the RAM timings and MHz were lowered to XMP settings for 2666MHz. I now realize that my hunch was correct in what I've read from others as well, that my system won't overclock higher due to the RAM being set to 3000MHz. It's probably important to note my ASRock Extreme4 handles only 3000MHz speed and I've already gotten my RAM timings pretty fast
