Question RAM speeds for Corsair Vengence DDR4 frustratingly slow

Just built my first pc the other day, loving how fast an upgrade it was for my old one, but, I was having problems with my RAM speed.

I started noticing texture pop in and loading spikes coming from my games, so, I benchmarked all of my parts using Performancetest 9.0. Every score was as expected, except for the ram whic got a score of barely 2000 when the average for the Corsair Vengence is 3016.

I've tried everything from bios updates, driver updates, loading XMP profiles, leaving them alone, searching for anything tha might be the cause but I just can't find anything. Does anyone know what this might be?

It's because your ram looks like it's running at 2666mhz from your screenshots.

You either need to set DOCP/XMP for the ram to run at it's rated speed, or enter timings and voltage manually in the bios to achieve the same settings as XMP (if XMP doesn't work)

your RAM is only running at 2666mhz right? try to activate the XMP. you have to increase the frequency just step by step from 2933mhz. typical of zen+ IMC between 2933 to 3200. dont raise directly above 3200++ because, maybe you have to set the timings and voltage manually to reach stability. RAM is complicated you have to know memory controller your processor, how your board can handle your ram, and absolutelly you have to know how the character your ram chipset. be sure you run memtest after you apply the configuration for stability.

AH! Forgot to switch over the XMP profile for the test!

Switched to 3600mhz XMP profile and ran the test again. Better results but still not hitting the minimum expected from this model. Any other ideas?

Can you click on the speed tab, and post it here?

Just to see what the jedec and XMP timings are. The CL 18 i fine, but some of the other timings seem on the high side for me. It might be better to have 3200mhz CL16 with tighter timings if that is a profile that is available. 3200 CL16 is practically the same as 3600CL 18.

If you look at the speed tab for XMP you can see the TRC is 64. In your mem tab, the TRC is 83. It could be that causing the slightly slower scores.

It might be worth setting the timings and voltage manually now, and running the test again, hopefully with TRC values at 64.(Setting manually).

Also, you mentioned Ryzen tuned in your post. I'm not sure if you are configuring the mem through Ryzen Master, but it's best to do all these things from the BIOS.
