Question ram stick doesnt work on my setup, works on others

When I use Stick 1 of the ram by itself in any of the slots the computer works fine, whenever i add Stick 2 in a 1-3 or 2-4 configuration, it wont post. When i try Stick 2 by itself in any slot it also will not post. My friend took the Ram sticks and tried single channel and dual channel, all of them worked for him.

i have updated bios and tried the DOCP profile in bios.

please help me im willing to try anything! I'm not sure about returning it because if it works fine on my friends they'll most likely won't allow me a return.

EDIT: when i use the second ram stick the computer turns on, fan lights start running, and the power button glows, but there is no signal detected. then once i remove stick number 2 and use stick one it works fine

check all your motherboard ram slot and also made sure you dont have bent pins on your cpu .

It sounds like you either have a bad stick of memory or a compatibility issue with the PRIME X470-PRO.

I would recommend RMA for the memory.
