RAM Sticks Reusable?

I'm planning to build a new PC. Would there be a problem if I used RAM sticks from my old computer to cut down on costs?

Oh, I'm not sure yet. But I'll make sure to check that they work together when I do. Right now I have 16 GB DDR3.

Newer platforms use DDR4 so unless you buying used/old parts then you likely need to upgrade you ram as well.
