Purchased an asrock 990fx extreme6, having a tough time selecting ram. I'm going for a single stick of 16gb 1600mhz ram, can't find anything on pcpart picker. I have the ram left over from my last desktop, 8gb/4x2gb pc3-10600, if this ram is compatible I've no need to buy any, but any ram I select on pcpart picker trips the compatibility check option. Grrr.

Solution
well if its ddr3 in witch pc3-10600 seems to be stick it in set it up fire it up and see how its is stability wise ? if its good call it good

I'd try it out before I would go buy. may work out great .. I use pull out hand me down compatible memory from one build to the next ..

Update for anyone who cares, still nearly impossible to find ram for this motherboard.

Motherboard specs say, 64gb ddr3 ram capacity, 1066-1600mhz. Four slots, that would require 16gb modules of said frequency, which apparently dont exist....The more troubling part is, manufacturer specs say 64gb capacity, but pcpartpicker says only 32gb. Had trouble even finding the mobo on there.
