RAM suggestions for hitting 3.5 - 4 Ghz w/ Asus P5B Deluxe

Dec 8, 2006
Ok, so here's the situation.

I'm working on this new 6600 Duo rig. I'm looking at P5B for the mobo, air cooling the duo with a Tuniq, and housing the whole thing in a Thermaltake Armor VA8003BWS since I'm a bit paranoid about the extra heat from OCing. This will be my first OC project.

So I'm wondering what would be the best RAM to achieve this objective? I'm talking about running 2 gigs of memory here. Would it be best to get 2 big 1GB sticks, or 4 512 sticks? I might need to add extra memory down the road, so I'm thinking my best bet would be to stick with 1GB sticks so the RAM is all uniform.

I'm trying to stay in the $300 or less range for the memory, but would be willing to go over that a bit if the increased cost was justified by the performance difference.

2X 1g all the way

Can run at DDR800CL4 should be able to push it some more and get to 4ghz cpu speed.
Can probably achieve the tightest timming of the three

Dont let the Cl5 fool you, can same chip as the Ballistix
Probably in the middle with strong speed/latencies

Super Talent
Will probably get the highest speed of the bunch
