I am building X370 based rig, but am confused as to RAM choice. Will I see big performance difference between 2400Mhz and say, 3200Mhz? More importantly will it run up to 3200Mhz, successfully, with the latest BIOS updates?
Faster memory does tend to affect performance a little more on Ryzen. Even so, probably only a 10-20% boost in performance AT BEST from having faster RAM. Kinda depends if you're looking for maximum performance.
As for if it will run at rated speeds, it depends on if you're using a kit from your motherboard's QVL. Anything that's not on your motherboard's QVL is prone to not running at rated speeds or timings, although there are some options that are significantly better than others (G.Skill FlareX is probably the best Ryzen kit).
